Spanish

Our Spanish program helps our students to develop solid communication skills in another language while broadening understanding and appreciation for cultural differences and the importance of building cross-cultural connections. Students become comfortable applying Spanish language in basic conversation and communication while steadily building an understanding of the basic grammar for reading and writing skills. These skills are regularly practiced through various hands-on classroom activities as well as applied in our local community on field trips throughout the year.

In addition to developing speaking, reading, and writing skills, students learn about the history, geography, music, art, traditions, and culture of the Spanish-speaking world. As native Spanish speakers, our teachers bring not only language fluency, but also rich personal stories to share their culture with students.

Spanish learning at MP&MS is enhanced through our long standing penpal and teacher exchange program with Colegio Williams, our sister school in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Over the years, we have created deep connections between our communities and enriched the program for our students.
