OEC Garden
The Outdoor Education Center, our school garden, allows students to learn from the multi-ecosystems flourishing there, to see the interconnectedness and impact all living and nonliving things have on each other. The garden also teaches problem solving and patience, as students plant, tend to, and wait for plants to grow, working as a team to create success.
Named in honor of our founding head of school and re-envisioned as part of the 2014 schoolyard project, The David R. Heath Outdoor Education Center, is a unique and treasured focal point of our campus. Students of all ages have dedicated class time in the garden with the garden teacher. Classroom and specialist teachers use the resources of the garden to enrich their programs, and special events such as the fall Harvest Festival have become treasured traditions in our community.
