Community support and participation, at its core, is the demonstrable affirmation of the commitment of the community to the MP&MS mission.


Why does MP&MS need fundraising in addition to tuition?

The cost of educating an MP&MS student is greater than tuition charged. The school deliberately sets tuition below full cost in order to keep the school more affordable to a wider range of students and to provide community members with opportunities to support the school with tax-deductible, philanthropic commitments.

What does the Annual Fund fund?

Annual Fund gifts go directly to the operating budget. The operating budget supports every part of our school including; teacher salaries, supplies for the classroom, utilities including water and electricity, fieldtrips, and building maintenance.

How much should I give? 

We ask parents, alumni, past parents, grandparents, trustees, faculty, staff and administrators to contribute at a level commensurate with their financial ability. Our goal is 100% participation and we appreciate donations of all sizes.

How and when do I give? 

We ask the MP&MS community-parents, faculty, staff, friends, and alumni to donate each year to our Annual Fund Campaign. Our Annual Fund kicks off in September and gifts may be made until May 15 the following year. We encourage you to make your annual donation early, but donations are appreciated at any time during the Annual Campaign. Making a donation is easy: you can donate online, or download a mail-in form, or mail payments to school directly. 

Can I make my donation in installments? 

Yes! This is a great way to maximize your impact to MP&MS and remain within your family budget. We can schedule monthly payments for whatever term you designate, concluding each year in May. 

What about matching funds? 

This is a great ways to increase the impact of your gift! You only have to ask your employer if they match gifts to non-profit organizations. 

What happens if MP&MS does not meet its fundraising goal? 

If MP&MS does not meet its annual fundraising goal, we cannot fund all the project and programs the following school year.

What about the Parent Association? 

The MP&MS Parent Association helps to raise funds through a variety of events including the annual auction held each spring. These funds are usually directed to a special program or project, or designated to the purchase certain items. These funds help to enhance our educational programs in addition to our operating budget.

What is the Federal Tax ID number? 

MP&MS is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit corporation. Our tax ID number is 94-2302389. All gifts are tax deductible to the extent permitted by federal law.
