On any given day of the school year, one can almost certainly find MP&MS students on trips around the Bay Area or California. Our students experience an incredibly diverse range of trips: From the San Francisco Zoo, Yosemite, a local recycling center, Gold Country, the Mojave Desert, and more. The trips are designed as focal elements of each classes curriculum. For example, our seventh graders spend weeks studying the ecology and geology of the Mojave desert before embarking on their weeklong trip. Similarly, second and third grade students learn about the environment of the San Francisco Bay and the native peoples of the area before an overnight trip to the Marin Headlands.

These extensive field trips are a way to make learning come to life and part of the MP&MS integrated curriculum. By taking the curriculum outside of the classroom, students are excited and motivated to learn about new places and new experiences. .
