Student love discovering the world through the David Hale Library Media Center. Our Library Media Center (LMC) has its basis in reading. Reading
is the cornerstone of a great education and the MP&MS program develops a passion for reading and a love of books very early on. An open invitation
to visit, non-existent fines and frowns, and unending encouragement has made the library a top destination at all times of the day (lunch too!) for
our whole student body. Our enthusiastic library staff chooses and has read much of our collection and easily motivates students by recommending books
they find they like to read. This much care and attention to reading encouraged MP&MS students to read more than 20,000 books last year.
Our LMC is not just a room full of books, however. We provide an array of information resources including computers, audio, video and TV alongside
our bookshelves. Our library staff are also media specialists who work closely with faculty to assist them in supplementing classroom lessons
and projects with rich detail from a variety of media. The LMC staff give regular lessons about how to use the library and information technology -
facilitating the development of the information literacy so critical for success in the 21st century.
