Merchant Programs
An integral component to the fund-raising activities at Marin Primary and Middle School are the Merchant Programs. These programs essentially rebate monies to the school when school supporters purchase at specific merchants enrolled in each program. Since we all eat, wear clothes, go to the movies, read books and drive our cars, the programs conveniently allow supporters to do fundraising while making their everyday purchases. Through these programs we have raised more than $25,000 annually for MP&MS! Because there is little overlap of participating merchants across these programs, we offer a range of different ones to school supporters. A brief description of these programs is provided below.
eScrip
eScrip is an internet-based system which manages the rebate process for different
participating merchants. Each merchant determines the percentage of purchase
for its rebate to the school. When you enroll in eScrip, you register your
credit, debit, ATM and/or Safeway Club Cards with the eScrip company. Privacy
is guaranteed. eScrip keeps track of your purchases based upon your card
numbers and sends you a quarterly statement outlining your expenses and contributions.
eScrip sends the school quarterly checks reflecting the total rebate earned
in that period from the merchants. Because the school has had such success
with eScrip, the school encourages each new family to enroll in the eScrip
Program and asks that returning families continue to update their credit
card numbers and expiration dates as changes occur. Although eScrip charges an
annual registration fee of $10.00 for each supporter, the MPMS Parent Association
absorbs this fee and the program is free to you.
To enroll in or update your account in eScrip you may either:
United Markets
United Market uses a community card which you can obtain from your scrip
coordinators. Just present this card at the cash register at checkout time
and have it scanned before the clerk rings up your purchases. On a monthly basis, United Market
will rebate 4% of supporter purchases to the school. Drop a note in the Scrip
cubby next to the primary and middle school cubbies to let the coordinators
know that you are interested.
Mill Valley Market
Mill Valley Market removed itself from eScrip this year and is currently
offering its own rebate program. Their process is simple. At checkout time,
tell the clerk that you want your purchase to apply to MP&MS. On a quarterly basis,
the school will receive a 3% rebate of supporter purchases.
Albertsons Market
Albertsons Markets operates a Community Partners Card rebate program that
is tied to its Preferred Savings card number. The Preferred Savings card
is like
a Safeway card since it enables the user to purchase at specially marked
discounted prices. In order to initiate the link of your Preferred Savings
card number
to MP&MS, you will need to obtain a Community Partners Card from the Merchant
Programs coordinators. Have this card scanned with your Preferred Partners
card at your next purchase, and any rebate generated from it will be accrued
for MP&MS. Thereafter, you will not need to use the Community Partners
card since your Preferred Savings card number will now track your rebate to
MP&MS. On a quarterly basis, Albertsons will send a rebate check based
on supporter purchases for that period. Drop a note in the Scrip cubby next
to the primary and middle school cubbies to let the coordinators know that
you are interested.
Schoolpop
Schoolpop is a rebate program for on-line shopping at stores or catalog merchants.
Go to the Schoolpop website, at www.schoolpop.com, and then enter the shopping
site of your choice. You will need to register the debit or credit cards
you will use with Schoolpop. All credit card transactions are conducted over
secure
networks. The rebate percentages vary by merchant. Each quarter, MP&MS
will receive a check for the rebates earned from supporter purchases.
Book Passage
Located at 51 Tamal Vista Boulevard, Corte Madera (next to the DMV), this
local independent bookstore has developed a School-Link Program. To participate
in
this program when you purchase merchandise, mention to the salesperson that
you participate in a school link program prior to having your purchases totaled.
Specify Marin Primary & Middle School (tracking number 25) and Book Passage
will rebate 5% of your purchase to our school.
Sally Foster Gift Wrap
Buy gift wrapping paper until January 15 and 50% of all sales will go to
the school. After our September deadline, you can still shop online at www.sallyfoster.com.
Our September deadline is set primarily for the prizes our kids receive for
their sales.
QSP Magazines
Subscribe to new magazines or renew your favorite magazines year-round by
placing an order at www.qsp.com. QSP will rebate 40% of your purchases to
MP&MS.
Target Stores
Target stores have a school donation program. If you have or would like to
have a Target credit card, you can designate MP&MS to receive 1% of your
total purchases.
Marin Express
Purchase a Marin Express Savings Card and $10 of the $20 membership goes
back to our school. Forms are in the Development Office. Contact Judy Regalia
with any questions.
