Board Bios


Julie Chaiken, Secretary
Julie has two children in the middle school at MP&MS. She is the founder of Chaiken Clothing, a women’s clothing company with a devoted following worldwide. Julie graduated from UCLA with a degree in history and earned an MBA in corporate finance from the Stern School of Business at NYU. She serves on the board of directors for the Center for Reproductive Rights, the Chaiken Foundation, and is a founding member for The Weekend to Be Named Later. Julie sits on the SF Jewish Women’s Fund, and is an active member of REBOOT. She was named a Women to Watch by Jewish Women International in 2014.

Nancy Connery, Parent
Nancy and her husband Chris have sixth and eighth grade children at MP&MS. As the Development Chair, Nancy has been involved in all fundraising efforts on behalf of the school, including our current middle school expansion project. Nancy is the Founder and Principal at Connery Consulting, a boutique HR consulting firm that focuses on scaling technology companies, including Airbnb, Dropbox, Twitter, and Zendesk. In her free time she likes to hike, travel, and spend quality time with her family.

Lorin Costolo, Alumni Parent
Lorin and her husband Dick are parents of a recent MP&MS graduate and a class of 2012 alumni. Lorin holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics and English literature from the University of Michigan, and worked during the late 80’s and 90’s for Morgan Stanley Fixed Income Sales and Trading. She reinvented herself in the late 90’s, becoming a parent, school volunteer, studio potter, and ceramics instructor at Lill Street Art Gallery until 2009.

Samantha Cross, Chair, Parent and Alumni Parent
Samantha (Sam) and her husband Shawn have two children at MP&MS and a 2015 alumni. Sam has served six years on the board as Parents Associate President, Vice Chair, and Chair. After college Sam worked for Gap Inc. in field operations in numerous retailing centers including Los Angeles, New York City, and London. After 15 years with Gap Inc., she retired to become a full-time mom.

Anna Davis, Parent
Anna is a senior urban planner at AECOM where she specializes in emergency management planning. She has a BA from Colgate University and a Masters in Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.  Anna and her husband, Lewis Kaufman, have a daughter, Rae, in second grade. 

Danny Dias, Parent
Danny and his wife Liz have two children at MP&MS, Ollie in first grade and Daphne in kindergarten. Danny is a graduate of Harvard University and is the co-founder and CEO of Lightkeeper, LLC, a leading provider of portfolio analytics tools for the alternative investment community.  

Maria Forney, Parent
Maria and her husband, Mark, have two daughters at MP&MS. Maria has over 25 years experience in enterprise software and is currently leading North America business development for midsize organizations at Oracle.

Kirsten Goff, PA President, Ex-Officio, Parent
Kirsten has a BA from Connecticut College in English, MSW from the University of Michigan, and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from George Washington University. Kirsten is an active volunteer at MP&MS and will serve as Parents Association President next year. Kirsten and her husband Jon have two children at MP&MS, Graham in fourth grade and Rory in JK

Jeanne Heath, Parent
Jeanne is a senior product manager with IBM Digital, helping to create its online marketplace. She has a BA from Vassar College and an MBA from Yale University, and is an alumna of MP&MS. Jeanne and her husband Peter Conklin have two children at MP&MS, Alice in seventh grade and Edmund in fourth. 

Joseph Keene, Treasurer, Alumni Parent
Joe and his wife Susan Andrus are the parents of two MP&MS graduates. Joe is an entrepreneur and investor in mobile and interactive media, a founder of ngmoco Inc. and is currently CEO of Pelayo Inc.

Hilary King, Parent
Hilary graduated from Lehigh University with a BS in Accounting. She worked in public accounting as well as the hedge fund industry. At MP&MS Hilary has served in a wide range of volunteer roles, most recently as President of the Parents Association. Hilary’s son Cooper is currently in seventh grade.

Jason Kissane, Parent
Jason and his wife Jessica have three children at MP&MS. Their three girls are currently in JK, first, and second grade. Jason is a Managing Director at a financial services firm which specializes in insuring municipal bonds. Jason has over 20 years experience in the public finance sector and also serves on the board of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts.  

Sloan Klein, Parent and Alumni Parent
Sloan founded Sloan Klein Advisors, a career and executive coaching firm focused on helping senior level asset management professionals who are in career transition. Prior to that she was an executive recruiter. She holds an MBA from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown. Sloan is married to Rob Klein and has a daughter attending MP&MS as well as a recent graduate.  

Bill Martin, Parent
Bill and his wife Krista have two children at MP&MS.  Bill is a Vice President of Clay County Port/Reynolds Industrial Park, a real estate investor, and musician.  As a member of The Wronglers, he has toured nationally with Texas singer Jimmie Dale Gilmore and is currently working on an album of original material.

Mike Mojabi, Parent
Mike and his wife, Petra, have two children at MP&MS. Mike is the Bay Area managing tax partner for Ryan, LLC, a global tax consulting firm. Mike holds a BS in accounting and MS in taxation. Mike is also a Certified Fraud Examiner and Six Sigma Black Belt certified. Mike has prior board experience as the assistant treasurer for Pathways for Kids, a San Francisco non-profit organization.

Amy Noblin, Parent
Amy and her husband, Jeremy, have two children at MP&MS. Amy served three years on the Parent Association Board and has been actively involved in the Capital Capital committee and Auction. She is an equity analyst with William Blair, specializing in the retail sector, with over 17 years of experience in finance and another six years as a buyer for Neiman Marcus and Saks.

Don Pillsbury, Parent 
Don is a graduate of Yale University. He also holds an MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Don is Head of Customer Loyalty and Retention at American Giant, an ecommerce company. Don and his wife Skye have one child at MP&MS, Clark in fifth grade.

Jeff Powell, Parent, Alumni Parent
Jeff and his wife, Kristen, have two children at MP&MS and a recent graduate. Jeff is the co-founder and managing partner of Polaris Greystone Financial Group, LLC, a wealth management company located in San Rafael. Jeff holds a BS in finance and economics from the University of Oregon. Jeff is an avid sports enthusiast, coaching many of his children’s sports teams.

Jeff Rabkin, Vice Chair, Parent and Alumni Parent
Jeff and his wife Adriana are parents of one child at MP&MS and one graduate. Jeff is in private practice as a Partner at the law firm of Jones Day, where he focuses on cyber security and privacy issues.

Andrew Slater, Head of School, Ex-Officio
Andrew Slater joined MP&MS as Head of School in July 2017. Andrew began his teaching career at the Bank Street School for Children in New York City and has held the role of Head of School at the Logan School in Denver and the Edmund Burke School in Washington D.C. Most recently, Andrew was Founding Associate Head of GEMS World Academy in Chicago. Andrew holds a Master of Educational Administration from Harvard University, a Master of Elementary Education from Bank Street College, and a B.A. in History from Lewis and Clark College. 

Brian Taylor, Parent
Brian received a BA in Philosophy from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He founded Kernel Season’s Popcorn Seasoning and is currently focusing on the build and launch of Thinkspan, a digital archiving platform. He and his wife Katie have two children at MP&MS, Olivia in second grade and Avery in Kindergarten.  

Karen Whitaker
Karen is Assistant Head of School for Academic Affairs at Branson and has worked in both public and independent high schools in the Bay Area. She is a graduate of Stanford University and earned her master’s degree in private school leadership from Teachers College at Columbia University. Her son, Max, graduated from Branson in 2012, and her niece and nephews attended MP&MS
