On May 19, the community celebrated MP&MS’s 15th annual International Day. This special multicultural festivity began with a parade leading into the amphitheater, followed by a program of performances by the preschool, primary, and middle school students. Parents and guests enjoyed a wonderful morning of celebration highlighting rich cultural traditions. Later in the day, students and teachers participated in a range of activities representing cultures around the globe. They also enjoyed a scrumptious international lunch. Specialty dishes included Swedish pancakes, tacos, enchiladas & flan, kiwi fruit, kumara wedges, rice bubble slices, chicken curry, mint tea, custard dessert, Irish stew, corned beef & cabbage, potato farl, kerry apple cake, currant squares, Irish soda bread, Brazilian sweets, hummus & pita, Egyptian chili, decaf Thai iced tea, pad Thai, chicken satay, sticky rice, fresh spring rolls, fried chicken, potato salad, and apple pie. This favorite MP&MS tradition is an important opportunity for our students to learn more about the cultures and countries represented within our own community as well as others around the world.
