Extended Hours and Homework Helpers Club
To provide a high level of service, hours at the LMC have been extended:
8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We are available after school to assist students
with homework assignments, reference questions and reading recommendations.
Book Suggestions
We encourage suggestions for new titles and media materials. Simply fill out a form at the main desk's Suggestion Box.
Reading Incentive Program
The reading incentive program has started for grades K-8. This year's theme is Explore with Books. Students are signing up, agreeing to a reading goal for the school year and recording their completed books in the reading logs. All books read (not just exploring books) should be logged in. Once a week, pins with their name, number and grade color, will be moved on the board to indicate their progress. The explorer board where readers will travel under the sea, on land with a safari, over mountains and out to space, is located in the library. There will be prizes and surprises.
The kindergarten log sheet will be turned in for recording by the teachers, but parents are welcome to log in additional books. Some of the younger grades may also need assistance filling in the logs which are located in the library in front of the explore board.
Birthday Book Club
You and your child can celebrate his or her birthday this year
at MP&MS by donating a book to the library. Your book will be placed
in the MP&MS library as a reflection of your generosity and will not
only honor your child, but will help update the library collection.
A bookplate will be placed in the front of the donated book with
your child’s name and message of your choice. Once the book is processed,
your child will receive a notice in their cubby and be the first
to check it out!
Should you decide to participate, there are two ways you can
join the MP&MS Birthday Book Club:
1. If you and your child wish to purchase and donate a book on
your own, but are not sure what to purchase, an MP&MS library wish list
is available at the children’s desk at Book Passage at 20 Tamal Vista
Blvd. in Corte Madera. Then bring the book you have purchased,
along with the form below, to the library to be processed.
2. You may donate $20 to the Birthday Book Club by writing a check
made out to MP&MS PA. Be sure to designate “Birthday Book” in
the memo line. Bring your check and the form below to the library
or drop it off in the library cubby. Next, your child will be
invited to the library
to select and donate a newly purchased book.
Thank you from the MP&MS library staff.
