Preschool

Children are naturally eager to question, develop their own theories — even change a point of view.

Typical School Day

Our school’s mission is to make education meaningful, while encouraging pride in self, respect for others, and enthusiasm for learning. With two teachers in every classroom, children find the encouragement, inspiration, and joy they need to learn and thrive throughour their preschool years.

Preschoolers move through a variety of activities, paced appropriately for their ages. Three-year-olds, for example, might spend part of their class time using building blocks, doing a water activity, an art project, or singing songs with their music teacher. Children are introduced to a variety of specialist subjects, each taught by an expert who knows how to reach developing preschoolers and engage their natural interest in learning. These include Spanish, music, outdoor education, and the library. In addition, older preschoolers enjoy physical education classes. These activities with the specialist teachers take place within the regular classroom and in the garden, music room, library and outdoor spaces.

We structure activities that seamlessly blend together to make discovery and learning fun. By the time students complete our program, they have a foundation of solid skills and a love of learning that serves them well as they enter the primary grades.
