The goal of the Marin Primary & Middle School technology program is to prepare our students to thrive in a digital world. We integrate technology to support teaching and learning. The technology education specialist works with classroom teachers to develop projects that are integrated with the classroom curriculum. In addition, we concentrate on the skills required to use technology successfully and safely.
Goals and Objectives:
- Utilize a variety of online sources for research
- Communicate and work collaboratively
- Complete classroom assignments using digital tools
- Refine their informational technology skills
- Develop an appreciation of the qualities necessary to become responsible digital citizens
Each of our middle school students is assigned an iPad (fifth and sixth grades) or laptop (seventh and eighth grades). Students receive digital literacy instruction to learn responsible use of information and technology. Students take ownership of assigned devices and use critical thinking skills to plan and conduct research, manage projects, and create original work.
The Marin Primary & Middle School technology program strives to improve educational methods incorporating technology through the active engagement of the Technology Advisory Committee, which includes trustees and parents with professional background and expertise in the field of technology, and the teachers and staff commitment to cultivate a professional learning community.
