1. Will the admission process at MP&MS provide me with a clear understanding of the school’s mission and values?
The admission process at MP&MS is extremely personalized. Parents are given the opportunity to fully understand our school during the campus tour, various admission coffees which provide parents to speak with our Head of School and during the child’s visiting day. We offer two tours each week during the height of the admission season to ensure that our parent groups are smaller and that parents are able to ask the questions that are pertinent for them and their children. In addition, to the materials parents will receive upon request of an application, applicant parents are invited to a series of informal events at homes of current parents. At these events, parents will meet our Head of School and other administrators. We have found these events to be educational and very informative. In addition, our Director of Admission’s door is always open to any questions parents may have. We understand that this can be a very stressful time and we are there to help!

  2. How will I know if MP&MS is the appropriate fit for my family?
During your tour, time speaking with our Head of School and our teachers, ask yourself if the strengths of the program at MP&MS and our mission are similar to your individual parenting styles and educational hopes for your child. Do you see your child fitting in and being happy in the environment here? Most importantly however, is to really know your own child. What makes your child tick? How does your child react in certain situations? What type of teaching does your child respond to? These are all things that we try to help you with in the admission process, but you are certainly your child’s strongest advocate.

  3. Will my child have time to spend at MP&MS during the admission process?
Yes. If entering Kindergarten, your child will attend one of our Kindergarten screening days. Here, your child will meet other applicants, both Kindergarten teachers and some of our other Primary School teachers and administrators. Children will engage in some short activities allowing us to assess Kindergarten readiness. In addition, parents will have the opportunity to speak with Julie Elam in
    the Library.

  4. Is there any special consideration given to families during the admission process?
MP&MS is a family school. Special preference is given to siblings of those students already enrolled at or graduated from MP&MS.
